Yoga Mala is an inviting and abundant space located in the heart of Regina's Downtown in the Western Trust Building on 11th Avenue. Just a few steps east from the Cornwall Center.
We are very delighted to be located in one of Regina's heritage buildings in the center of the city. Our reception is located on the fourth floor, with our Health Collective and studio space on the third floor with our main yoga practice space up on the fifth floor. We have over 6,600 square feet of space!
Our yoga school specializes in Ashtanga, Yin and Flow yoga, directed by Emma Korkola. All classes are taught according to their lineage of origin and are designed to optimize the health and wellbeing of our students.
YOGA MALA STORY
Emma Korkola founded the studio in 2005. She was inspired to open an Ashtanga shala in Regina. She wanted to share her passion for Ashtanga yoga and provide a safe and enriching atmosphere for learning. As the studio and the students have evolved, Emma has expanded the yoga curriculum to embrace Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative and Yin Yoga. By 2012 the Yoga Mala community grew to fill its new and current home.
YOGA MALA HERITAGE STATEMENT
Yoga Mala is proudly located on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floors of Regina's Western Trust Building (2020 11th Avenue). The Western Trust Building, which was constructed in 1911-1912, has been recognized as a Municipal Heritage Property by the City of Regina, and in 1998, was awarded national heritage status as a Canadian Historic Place.
We are thrilled to make our home in this iconic structure, and honoured to continue the legacy of the Western Trust Building within the heart of Regina's ever changing landscape.
